Our Data Protection and Privacy Policy provides an explanation as to what happens to any personal data that you provide us with, or that we collect from you.

 

How do we store your data? 

Amelia will collect, manage and store consent forms/personal data. The data collected on this form will be stored securely (only Amelia K Academy staff will have access to this information). We will keep this information for the duration of your time at our Academy, if you choose to leave or you move on to higher education any data we hold will be destroyed. Any information stored on a computer will be password protected if possible. Consent forms will be stored in a folder and kept at Amelia’s residence. A paper copy with full names, ages, contact numbers and medical information will be taken to each class in case of an emergency. Information may be shared with emergency services if required. 

 

Why do we collect this data? 

 

  • Your child’s name is used for registration and invoices and date of birth will ensure they are placed in the correct class for their age. Your address, phone number and email address are collected so we can contact you when/if necessary. Medical information is required so that we can teach your child in a fully safe environment and adapt the lesson, if need to be, to suit their requirements. 
  • If your child is interested in participating in Festivals and Examinations your information will be shared with the festival committee/examination board (all of these have their own data protection policy and you will be made aware of each individual one at the time of filling out the forms). You may be asked to provide Full Name, Date of Birth, Address, Email Address, Phone Number and Gender. You will be given separate consent forms each time your information is needing to be shared. Information will not be shared without your consent. 
  • When you hand over your filled in consent form to Amelia K Academy, we will presume you are happy for us to hold your information. We will usually contact you using the email you’ve provided however in emergencies we may phone/text you, if you do not wish to be contacted in a particular way, please let Amelia know as soon as possible. 
  • If your information changes please see Amelia immediately. We will give you a new consent form and the previous form will be destroyed. 

 

Social Media:

 

  • Photos/Videos may be shared on our Website and Facebook and Instagram pages. These will only be advertised if previous consent has been given. If, at any point, you would like to withdraw your consent please inform Amelia immediately.
  • If your child competes and wins an award we may post a medal/trophies list on our Facebook page this would only include their name however if you do not wish for this to be shared please let Amelia know as soon as possible. 
  • If you are part of our Facebook group we may use ‘Facebook Messenger’ to contact you. If you do not wish be contacted on messenger please let us know. Messages and emails to Amelia may be kept for referencing purposes.

 

If your child has a private lesson we recommend you/your child brings their own device (Phone, iPod, iPad/Tablet, Camera etc.) so they can film what they have learnt in the lesson for practicing purposes. We are dedicated to safeguarding and preserving your privacy when you are using Amelia K Academy's website and when you contact us. We do update this Policy from time to time so please do review this Policy regularly

Use of Cookies

‘Cookies’ are used to provide aggregated statistics on visitors to our website and their browsing behaviour. This enables us to order the site to make customers’ journeys easier and, if necessary, make improvements. The data is aggregated and anonymised, which means we cannot identify you as an individual.

The information that we collect and store relating to you is primarily used to enable us to provide our services to you. In addition, we may use the information for the following purposes:

  • To provide you with information requested from us relating to our services.
  • To provide information of other services which we feel may be of interest to you where you have consented to receive such information.
  • To notify you about any changes to our website such as improvements or service changes that may affect our service.

 

 Storing Your Personal Data

 

The transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure and therefore we cannot guarantee the security of data sent to us electronically and transmission of such data is therefore entirely at your own risk. 

 

Disclosing Your Information

 

We will only disclose your personal information to third parties where we are legally required to do so. (Festivals and Examinations require us to pass on certain information, separate consent must be given before we disclose your information)

We will not disclose your personal information to third parties for any other reason.

Access to Information
