Strength, flexibility and control
Acro
Gymnastics-based dance that builds handstands, walkovers, aerials and balance work, taught safely and progressively.
About the class
What acro is all about
Acro sits where gymnastics meets dance. Students develop the strength, flexibility and body awareness that lift every other discipline they take, from the clean line of a ballet arabesque to the tricks that finish a commercial routine.
We follow a graded, safety-first progression. Nothing is rushed. Skills are broken down, spotted and mastered one step at a time, so confidence grows alongside ability. Alongside our weekly acro classes we also run monthly acro workshops with Taylor Styles, a world renowned acro coach.
What to expect
- A thorough warm up and conditioning to prepare wrists, shoulders and core
- Progressive skill work: bridges, limbers, walkovers, handstands and aerials
- Spotting and matting for every new skill until it is secure
- Monthly guest workshops with Taylor Styles alongside weekly classes
Why it matters
What your dancer gains
- Genuine strength, flexibility and body control
- The confidence that comes from mastering a new trick safely
- Skills that lift every other style they dance
- Monthly workshops with world renowned coach Taylor Styles
How they progress
Students begin with foundational strength and flexibility, then progress through bridges and limbers to walkovers, handstands and, in time, aerials, only ever moving on once a skill is secure. Monthly Taylor Styles workshops accelerate progress for those who want more.
